BRANDEIS UNIVERSITY | CLASSROOM UTILIZATION STUDY UPDATE | 2002
The University asked Rickes Associates (RA) to conduct an expanded classroom utilization analysis, building upon one completed by the firm a year before as part of the University's campus master plan.
Brandeis has 66 classrooms that are scheduled by the Registrar, and an additional 30 departmentally controlled classrooms. The initial step in this study was to collect, update, and clarify scheduling data from the Registrar, and to interview key administrators. This new information was used to update the previously completed classroom utilization analysis. RA then evaluated the sufficiency of existing instructional space by completing a room-by-room review of use patterns and an assessment of hours of use and percentage of seats occupied. The final report summarized findings, outlined conclusions, and proposed recommendations to optimize the number, type, and scheduling of classrooms. (2002)
