COLLEGE OF THE HOLY CROSS |
SPACE NEEDS ASSESSMENT AND REALLOCATION STUDY | 2009
Established in 1843, the College of the Holy Cross, a coeducational, Roman
Catholic institution, enrolls approximately 2,700 undergraduate students. This
assessment evaluated space needs for select occupants and functions on the
College's hilltop campus in Worcester, Massachusetts.
The highlighted units and occupants included Admissions, Instructional
Technology Services, Development and Alumni Relations, Human Resources, Public
Safety, Bursar, Auxiliary Services, and the office of the Vice President for
Administration and Finance. The study included an overview of the needs of
Student Affairs, Athletics, Library, and various Academic Affairs departments to
inform the broader planning context and identify further space reallocation
possibilities across the campus as a whole.
Including user group interviews, verification of existing conditions,
identification of future space needs, and establishment of test-fit scenarios,
the final report was issued simultaneously with a document outlining space
planning and process guidelines for the College.
