The goal of this project was to prepare a space program for the Office of
Admissions, which occupied a former farmhouse on campus. Although the building
was renovated and expanded in 1995, current operations exceeded the ability of
the building to house them, resulting in significant overcrowding.
In
order to prepare the space program, meetings were held with Admissions Office
staff. The intent was to review current operations and planned personnel growth,
collect relevant data, and tour the existing facilities.
The space program ultimately recommended 5,000 asf, roughly double the current
square footage. Among the spaces programmed were offices, meeting rooms, and a
multimedia presentation room. Opportunities for locating some functions
elsewhere on campus were also explored in an effort to maximize a constrained
footprint. (2007)
